Body found in search for missing Stoke-on-Trent man

Police say they have called off the search for a missing Stoke-on-Trent man, following the discovery of a body.

55-year-old Alan Wilton was last seen in Abbey Hulton on Thursday 3 October.

The body of a man, believed to be Alan, was found yesterday evening (10 October).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 7.15pm to the allotments off Woodhead Road to reports of a male in cardiac arrest.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Police officers were also in attendance."

Alan's family have been informed.

Formal identification will take place in due course.

Detectives do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
