Women from across Cheshire will be celebrating International Women's Day with an event in Winsford.

Charity Motherwell Cheshire is preparing for their annual event which this year is taking place at the Winsford campus of Warrington and Vale Royal College between 10am and 4pm.

It is the third year the event has been held in the town where the theme this year is Balance for Better and Women in STEM.

There will be a range of inspirational speakers, including Alexis Redmond MBE, High Sheriff of Cheshire, Kate Cousens author of the book "Climbing in Heels", PC Jo Green talking about female opportunities in the police force, Cate Walter, Director of Rhino Safety and Dr Sally Freeman from the University of Manchester.

There will also be creative exhibitions and dance workshops.

Organiser Kate Blakemore from Motherwell Cheshire, said: "This is our third event for the residents of Winsford and my overall aim is to inspire people to believe in themselves and with the right support they can achieve all they want to in life."

International Women’s Day is a global call to action for accelerating gender parity.
