Driver airlifted to hospital following collision involving car and lorry

The driver of a car involved in a crash with a lorry near Nantwich has been taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Firefighters had to remove the roof of the vehicle, after being called out to the incident on Wrexham Road in Burland around 3pm this afternoon (9 October).

The driver was removed from the vehicle using a long board.

Firefighters assisted paramedics to help release a second woman from the car.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
