Man arrested following Meir house fire

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson, following a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services were called to a property on Seddon Road in Meir around 1am this morning (5 February).

Fire crews from Hanley and Longton attended and extinguished the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire.

Early indications showed the fire had been started deliberately and Staffordshire Police were informed.

They have arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of arson. He remains in custody.
