Man arrested in connection with incident at Wammy

Armed police have arrested a man in connection with an incident in Newcastle earlier this week.

Four people were injured after being struck by pellets in the Wammy, off Wilmot Drive at 6.30pm on Tuesday evening.

Officers swooped on an address in Dawlish Drive in Bentilee at 5.45pm pn Saturday.

A 35-year-old man is in custody while enquiries continue.

Two women from Stoke-on-Trent, aged 17 and 40, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting a suspect.
