Man arrested over charity shop burglary

A man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at a charity shop in Newcastle.

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to a report of a burglary at Animal Lifeline on Church Street at around 12.45am this morning (14 March)

The say someone had forced entry to the building and items and a collection box were taken.

Following a stop and search, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in custody.
