Man bitten as he tried to protect his dog - which was killed

A man has been bitten by a dog in Stoke-on-Trent, reportedly while trying to protect his own pet, which was killed.

Officers were called to Carlton Avenue in Little Chell at 9pm yesterday (11 September).

They say a Staffordshire bull terrier had attacked a cross shih Tzu and bit a man on the torso.

Police found the dog and are now continuing with enquiries.

Any witnesses are urged to call Staffordshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 750 of September 11.
