A man is in a critical condition in hospital, following an 'industrial accident' at a business in Hanley.
Emergency services were called to the Goodwin Steel site on Ivy House Road around 1:14am this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, MERIT trauma doctor and two BASICS doctors to the scene.
Staffordshire Police officers also attended.
Upon arrival they found two patients, both men, who had sustained burns.
One of the men was in a serious condition - with police describing his injuries as 'life threatening'.
He received advanced trauma care on scene before being taken on blue lights to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hospital for further treatment.
The man remains there in a critical condition.
The second man was treated for minor injuries and discharged on scene.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
