Man released after being trapped between large goods vehicle and metal gates

A man has been taken to hospital with chest injuries after being trapped between a vehicle and metal gates in Cheshire.

Firefighters were called to a report of a collision in Wades Lane, Winsford at around 7.50pm.

Three fire engines attended from Winsford, Northwich and Middlewich as did the major rescue unit from Winsford.

The collision involved a large goods vehicle and a pedestrian.

On arrival the man was trapped between the vehicle and metal gates.

Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and removed the gate to free the trapped casualty.

They then handed him over to the care of paramedics.

He was then taken to hospital.

Firefighters were in attendance for more than an hour.
