New jobs created at builders merchants

A builders merchants has created a number of new jobs after opening a brand new state-of-the-art store in Stoke.

MKM Building Supplies, the UK’s largest independent builder’s merchant has reported a fantastic first month trading, after opening the doors creating 17 local jobs.

The new branch, which is located on a 2.3 acre site on Stanley Matthews Way, is designed to be a one-stop shop to local building trade, offering a wealth of expertise and an extensive range of products.

MKM Stoke is welcoming both trade and retail customers to showcase a wide range of building essentials for roofing, joinery, timber supplies, kitchens and bathrooms.

The branch also offers a range of services including under floor heating, roofing take off, a brick matching service, as well as free measure and 3D design services for kitchens and bathrooms.

The new outlet is part of MKM’s ambitious expansion plan, which has gained significant momentum over the past few years.  Fast-growing MKM has added 15 new branches to its network in just over two years, with Stoke being the 63rd UK branch.

MKM Stoke is headed up Nick Allerton and Paul Hodgkiss, an experienced industry duo, with a combined 60 years experience working within the trade.

Nick commented: “It has been fantastic to open MKM’s doors in Stoke - our new team has worked incredibly hard to create an exceptional retail experience and we have had phenomenal support from local businesses.
