Police thank local residents for their understanding following death in Stoke-on-Trent

Detectives say the death of a woman in Northwood on Friday is still being treated as unexplained.

A police spokesperson said that however it is not believed to be suspicious.

Officers were concerned that a hazardous substance may have been involved.

All emergency service staff that attended the incident were discharged from hospital and none of them require further treatment.

Formal ID of the victim will take place in due course and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner.

Officers would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding as they worked alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service to ensure that the area was safe.
