There could be some disruption for bus users in Leek today as resurfacing work takes place near the bus station.
Bus companies have advised passengers of the following alternative arrangements on the day:
· D&G Bus service 16 towards Hanley will leave from the bus stop next to Moorlands House on Stockwell Street
· D&G Bus service 16 towards Buxton and staff services to Alton Towers will leave from the stop opposite Moorlands House
· First Bus services will also use the stop opposite Moorlands House on Stockwell Street
Councillor Edwin Wain, Cabinet Member for Planning. Property and Development at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, said: “We’re pleased that this work to improve the environment at the bus station is being carried and that it will take place on Sunday to minimise the disruption for passengers.
“We know that people also want to see the toilets at the site refurbished and we share that aim. We have advertised a contract and we will be evaluating the bids that come in with a view to appointing a company to carry out this work.
“In the meantime, I’d like to thank bus users in advance for their understanding whilst the work to resurface the road takes place.”
