Thousands donated to pay for funeral of 'beautiful princess' who died suddenly

Thousands of pounds has been raised in memory of a two year old girl, who died suddenly at her home in Alsager.

Aaliyah Jayde Nolan passed away on 23 January.

Friends and family members have been raising funds to pay for the funeral, which will take place tomorrow (11 February).

An online fundraising page has been set up to help give her the send off 'this beautiful princess so truly deserves'.

The local community has come together to hold events including a sponsored walk, charity fishing match, and a dominos and darts tournament.

Collection buckets and tins have also been placed at local shops and pubs in Crewe.

Many of the fundraising efforts are being co-ordinated by Tanya Fletcher, and Tracy Edwards, who related to Aaliyah Jayde's mum Natalie.

Tracy said: "You can't even imagine what the poor girl is going through.

"You don't put funds away for this sort of thing, for such a little girl.

"We just want to give her an amazing send off.

"Crewe has been absolutely amazing, and we can't thank people enough. They have all been outstanding."

The funds that have been raised are being used to pay for the funeral cars, flowers, a horse and carriage, and for a plane bearing Aaliyah Jayde's name to fly over as mourners walk up West Street.

Fundraising efforts are continuing though, to pay for a headstone and a memorial bench.

A bingo night is being held at the Coppenhall Club in Crewe on Wednesday (12 February), with doors opening at 5:45pm, and bingo starting at 7:15pm.

Dozens of people and local businesses have donated prizes.

Tanya said: "I have a little girl, no older than Natalie's daughter, so obviously it hits home.

"She was gorgeous and we just want to help.

"People have been amazing and we can't thank them enough.

"I just feel proud to be from around here.

"Natalie needs somewhere she can go and sit, she can go and have chats with her.

"It will just be like her special little place."
