Askey unhappy with officials as Vale are held at home

Port Vale were held to a 1-1 draw by Stevenage.

Manager John Askey made two changes going into the game.

David Amoo and Cristian Montano came into the starting line up for James Gibbons and Tom Pope who were on the bench.

Loanee Jake Taylor got the Vale off to a great start by opening the scoring after just 8 minutes.

But the visitors levelled up it midway through the half.

Adam Crookes was penalised for shirt pulling and Kurtis Guthrie tucked home the resulting penalty.

The Vale were then denied a spot kick themselves after a foul on Tom Pope late on.

The result leaves the Valiants in 16th place in the table, but only three points off the play-off places.

John Askey's side are back in action on Tuesday night when they make the trip to second place Bradford City.
