Port Vale came from behind to beat managerless Carlisle United 2-1.

Manager John Askey named the same eleven that knocked League One outfit MK Dons out of the FA Cup seven days ago.

The hosts got off to the worst possible start going a goal down inside 21 seconds.

Ryan Loft arriving at the far post to put the visitors in front.

Vale eventually equalised on the hour mark through David Worrall.

Substitute Mark Cullen, who scored twice in the EFL Trophy win in midweek, then netted the winner seven minutes from time.

The result lifted the Vale up to eighth in the table, and only out of the play-off places on goal difference.

John Askey's side are now the only side in the division who have yet to lost at home.

The Valiants are back in action on Saturday when they make the trip to Scunthorpe.
