Vale midfielder triggers contract extension

Port Vale's Luke Joyce has triggered a contract extension.

It is after the midfielder played 30 league games for the club this season.

The 32-year-old said: "There is nothing really to be done as such. It is in my favour so I just need to let the club know within a certain time frame whether I am happy to stay, which I can't see there being an issue with.

"To be honest I am not really thinking about it that much.

"It is nice for me as a player and my family to know I have another 12 months of a job because that is ultimately what it comes down to, especially when you get to my age."
